Striped carpet on stairsThis months blog is all about striped carpet on stairs. One of the first things we hear people say is that striped carpet can not be fitted on stairs with winder steps, this is not true. Striped carpet can be fitted on stairs with winding steps in a couple of different ways, I will show you some examples now. The wrong way. The image above is a good example of of badly fitted striped carpet on winding stairs. No effort has been made to line the stripes up and the first winder step is on a angel over the riser. If you look at the image below you will notice that the black center line in the stripe lines up with the next step below. This is how a striped carpet should be set out, from the center of the carpet this way it will give the appearance of the stripes lining up when you look up or down the stairs. Bending Striped CarpetA new way of installing striped carpet on winding stairs is by bending the carpet. The benefits of having the carpet bent is, you will have the stripes matching 100% on every step creating a fantastic look in your home. The example below was from a project completed in Cheltenham using a Crucial Trading Carpet, we can also bend Roger Oates stair runners on winding stairs. Hopefully you found this blog helpful. If you would like any further advice regarding striped carpets please leave a comment below and I will do my best to help.
